Notes for Theora Steele: Theora and her mother Louisa Jane Pottinger Steele went to Phoenix, Arizona for her health . Later Craig and Earl Pottinger followed to be with their Grandmother as their Mother had died in childbirth and their father soon after. Earl caught diptheria and died shortly after that. Craig went from Phoenix to Flagstaff and back to Phoenix then on to Nogalas. Always worked for Newspapers there and finally founded Nogalas International. Virgil a brother of Theora also came to Arizona and worked as a Railroader in Flagstaff. Theora married John Corrigan, she died in 1913 and is buried in Phoenix as is John Corrigan. Louisa also died there on a train trip from Flagstaff to Barstow Ca to see her son Virgil where she suffered a heart attack. She is buried back in IN @ IOOF Cem. Marion. w her husband Richard Greenbury and daughter in law Mary Alice Johnson Steele and many other family members."Inherited her literary tastes from her father and graduated with highest honors at the University of Indiana" |
