Notes for Maren Andrine OLSEN: One sister, 4 years younger "Maren Andrene OLSON born in NORWAY Jan. 22, 1848 and died June 9, 1901 at the age of 53 yrs. 4 mos. 17 days. She was 16 yrs. old when she came to Eau Claire from NORWAY. She had one sister, 4 yrs. younger. She was 8 yrs. old when her mother died. Her father died before. Dr. gave him medicine so strong it ate a hole in the chair and killed him. She had a boy friend when she was 18 that got killed in the woods. Her and Thorvald got married when she was 23 or 24 in Eau Claire, Eau Claire Co, WI. They moved to Drammen between 1876 and 1880. She was Ladies Aid treasurer for at least 20 yrs. She was blind for a long time and had a stroke and laid from fall till June. Mother said she cried so before the funeral her lungs were so sore she couldn't cry at the funeral.
