Aaron Brock (b. December 08, 1721, d. 1820)
Aaron Brock (son of Reuben Brock and Cristian Place) was born December 08, 1721 in Virginia, and died 1820 in Clay Co., Kentucky. He married (1) Susan/Susannah ?. He married (2) Rhoda Sizemore on Bef. 1801. He married (3) Anges Shepard Cornett on Bef. 1801.
Notes for Aaron Brock:
MARRAIGE: Chief Red Bird supposedly lived with Susan in a sycamore tree when they were first married in what is now called Red Bird, KY.
DEATH: Fork of the Kentucky River is named after him. Historical Landmark #908. At the time of his death, he was living with another Native American named Willie. There are 3 versions of his death:
DEATH: 1)Chief Red Bird and Willie were killed by thievs who wanted their furs and then dumped in the river that was shortly named after him. Soon afterwards, they were pulled from the river and properly buried.
2)Some men killed Willie and layed in wait until Chief Red Bird returned home. They shot him when he approached the cabin and dumped his body in the river with Willie. They were pulled from the river and buried.
3)Chief Red Bird was crouched on the river bank when he was shot and dumped in the river. Soon afterwards, he was pulled from the river and buried.
BIOGRAPHY: Chief Red Bird signed a treaty with Dillon Asher in Harlan County, Kentucky about 1798 (1806?)
BIOGRAPHY: Chief Red Bird may have been 1/2 Cherokee or was adopted by the Cherokee tribe when he came to live with them with his father.
BIOGRAPHY: He may have participated in The Great Cherokee Children Massacre at Ywahoo Falls. I printed a narrative of the story told by one of the descendants of another participant.
