Beaver Dam Argus April 16, 1870 issue:

Sad and fatal accident happened, Mr. Henry Yock, wife and brother, Mr Dahan and wife were out in a small boar, a short distance above the dam and becoming on account of the strong currant, they neared the old Saw Mill and one of them in trying to grasp one of the timbers, swamped the boar, throwing them into the water, and out of the five only two got ashore, Mr, Henry Yock and wife and the wife of Mr Dehne were drowned. Their bodies have not yet been recovered, Mr Yock was a young man highly respected, and one of the most expert men we have in handling a boat, and a great swimmer. The cause of his going down was endeavoring the save of his wife, but being so near the dam this strong currant carried him over and down the rapids.
