From Adrian Gravelle 27 July 1997 e-mail:My basic conclusion is that your family tree is solid but without the Oregon fur trader. Until this morning, I had one prime candidate for this fur trader. The candidate was a younger brother of your ancestor Francois. Francois' younger brother, Alexis, was born in November 1757. While he married in 1785 and produced children until 1797, he seemed to disappear after that. He was the best "fit" I found. However, today I found he married a second time in 1803 and produced at least one child about 1805. That probably takes him out of the running.
