!MARRIAGE: The parish marriage repertoire for St. Joseph Catholic Church in Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont says that Joseph (son of Andre Gravel and Marie Souliere) married Elisabeth Roussel (daughter of Cyrille Roussel and Aurelie Masson) on 23 May 1877. Further, the repertoire says the parents lived in Shelburne, a town just south of Burlington. Suggest you look at the 1870 U.S. Census for Shelburne, Chittenden County, for clues. Adrian

Hello: there were Gravels in Shelburne, Vt, and Charlotte, next door. A Mary Gravel wed Peter Charbeauno in Williston on May 8,1831. A daughter, Esther Coleman(Charbeauno) married Gilbert Champlain sometime in the 1850's.They settled for a long time in Shelburne. There were several Gravels in this town, relatives of Mary- I have no clue. Gilbert and Esther were my gr. gr. grandparents. Esther died 1901 in Canada while on a visit to a daughter. What can I do to help?
