The names of Jacob's children are not all known. His children have often been listed as the children of his brother Joseph and Gemimey Elizabeth Hensley. The truth is there is no record to be found that Joseph and Gemimey ever had any children. While Joseph lived in Virginia there is no record of him ever paying tithable taxes on any children. the only evidence that supports any children, is while living in Kentucky the census shows children living in their houshold, but the truth is that these were the children of Jacob, Jr. and Mary Shane. Their children left Virginia and lived for a while with their uncle Joseph in then Floyd County, KY
