"Adolphus "Pete" Gibson, 80, a long-time farmer of the Southport community, died Monday, August 19, 1991, at Columbia Health Care following an extended illness.Services will be 2:30 PM, Tuesday at the Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Haywood Liles officiating.Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetary.A masonic service will be held tonight at the Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home.Visitation will be after 3 PM today at the funeral home.A Maury County native, he was the son of the late James and Edna Matthews Gibson.He was married to the late Audrey Mae Overstreet Gibson who died August 19, 1978.He was a long-time member of the Glenwood Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Bigbyville Masonic Lodge for 54 years.Survivors include one daughter, Mrs, Roy (Edna Ree) Vick, Jr. of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Bufford (Jeffie) Sands of Waco; and two grandchildren,Todd Vick of Knoxville and Amanda Vick of Columbia.He was preceeded in death by two brothers, Clovis Gibson and Clayton Gibson; and two sisters, Mrs. M.H.
