"Charlie Gibson, 74, retired from the Gabriel Ride Control Products, Inc. in Pulaski, and retired farmer of the Yokley community died Tuesday, July 26, 1994, at the St. Thomas Hospital.Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Ewing Neely and Ed Murphy officiating.Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetary at Lynnville, TN.Visitation will be after 2 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.The Giles County native was the son of the late Willie McCoy and Hassie Evans Gibson.He was a member of the the Bethel Church of Christ.He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and served in the Normandy conflict, landing on Omaha Beach.Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alta Pearl Overstreet Gibson of Yokley; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Betty) Cosby of McCains; three sons, Jack (Omie) Gibson of Yokley, Terry (Sue) Gibson of Culleoka and Ronnie (Faye) Gibson of the Enterprise community;two sisters, Mrs. Zula Coffey and Mrs. Kate Maloney, both of Lynnville; and one brother, Buford Gibson of Lynnville."SOURCE:The Daily Herald, July 1994
