My ancestry line begins with James Nuccol, b. abt. 1650 in England or Virginia. Most of this info was provided to me mainly through the generosity of my fourth cousin, Doris Dell. She has been researching the Nuckols ancestry for more than twenty years. I also have to give credit for a lot of research done by my sister-in-law, Carrol Nuckols who was living in Fredericksburg, VA. Carrol and my brother Stuart are now living in Oceanside, California. She has gathered much info and copies of wills from the courthouses in surrounding counties when she was living in Fredericksburg, VA. My own research has been mostly at the LDS Temple in Victorville, CA. Another good source has been through the NUCKOLLS-L@rootsweb.com. I was raised in Sandston, VA, just eight miles east of Richmond by my father and mother, Burton P. Nuckols,Sr and Chloe Sargent Nuckols. I was the youngest of five boys, Burton P. Nuckols,Jr, Lawrence Dean Nuckols, Edgar Sargent Nuckols, Stuart Winston Nuckols and Clarence Calvin Nuckols. I was born in 1930 in Litchfield, Ohio where my father, a Southern Baptist minister, was pastor of the church there at that time.
