There is a village Noneley in Shropshire to this day and the surname Noneley is still going strong, however there are lots of variants, amongst these Nonnelly, Nunnerly, Nunneley and Nunnerley. It is quite common for people to be registered at birth with the Surname Nunnerly and on their death certificate as Nunnerley. Some people even had both inscribed on their gravestone, i.e John Nunnerly, son of Richard Nunnerley!
