The Self and McDonald Family Homepage

I am doing research on my MCDONALD family line. I find Alexander McDonald in Bethpage,McDonald,MO.. The history of McDonald county states that the county was named after him but I can't seem to find any pertinent information on him. His grandson my GGrandfather was Daniel H.A. McDonald b:6 Feb 1859married to Jennie Staley. Their daughter my GGrandmother Sarah (Sadie)Louise Self (McDonald)was born in Bethpage,McDonald,MO. in 1882. She married Thomas Franklin Self also from Bethpage.
The information I am seeking is on Alexander McDonald and his son who's name I believe to be a Thomas McDonald. I cannot find the information I need on either of these men.
