John Peter Koerbel , born August. 17, 1826 in Schlearbach, Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, married in 1849 to second wife, Anna Katherina Tripple, who came to USA with dtr., Margaret. John Peter Koerbel had 4 sons, John (florist in Jeannette, Pa) William, (perfected wine formula, called "Koerbel" Champagne, later dropped the "E" in name to "Korbel"), Fred, (Barber) and Henry, New York Life Insurance salesman who at that time had sold the most policies in the history of the company.

Henry Richard Koerbel(son of Peter, stepson to Ana Katherina) married Louisa Ellen Snyder, (dtr. of William Snyder and Phoebe Elizabeth Morrison) and were the parents of 6 children, Albert, Paul and Mildred (Lawther) of Jeannette, Harry and Nellie (Engstrom) of Ambridge, and Hazel,(Welty) of Greensburg. The Henry Koerbel family were in residence at 939 Gaskill Ave., Jeannette, PA. in the early years.

Albert, married to Sue, parents of Helene and Warren. Nellie married to Albert Engstrom, parents of Ruth (Rees) and Alberta Mae (Raines). Hazel, married to Agustus Drum Welty, parents of Gus. Mildred, married to Tom Lawther, parents of Bob, Dorothy (Weightman)), and Donald. Harry, married to Charlotte (Felmley), parents of Richard A. and Charlene (Nussbaum). Paul, married to Virginia and parents to Paul (Paddy) Koerbel.
