Jorgen A. Nygaard (Nygard) Family

My search continues to trace my family history with hopes of providing this information to my Grandchildren and to share this history with other members of my family, so they too can enjoy the Nygaard / Nygard (Nystuen) heritage with their families. My Great-Grandfather Jorgen Amundson Nystuen was born in Loiten Hedemarken, Norway in 1859 to Amund Jorgenson & Lizabet (Johannesdatter) Nystuen. Jorgen came to the US in 1881 and name was changed to Nygard / Nygaard). He was a pioneer homestead in Tiber Township, Walsh County, North Dakota. Jorgen married Maria Kajsa Olson, daughter of Olof Peter Olson, in 1885. They had (3) sons & (6) daughters. The oldest son, Alfred Jorgen Nygaard, was born in 1886 and is my Grandfather. He married Aasne Gurine Mortenson in 1904. They had (4) sons and (1) daughter. The third son, Christian Orlando (my father) married Claryce LaVerne Kilen in 1938.
