The Bryan Oakes Family Home Page

My father, Robert Oakes, started researching his roots as a hobby a number of years ago. Through his research, he has developed a data base of close to 1,000 individuals in the family tree of our first ancestor.
I recently transfered much of his information to Family Tree Maker. It is not yet published on the web but I will do so once I have finished checking it for consistency.

Our family is descended from Thomas Oakes, who arrived in the American Colonies around 1658 with his brother Edward. Both appear to have come to this country as indentured servants but eventually became freemen.

I am trying to help my fathers research. Any information others have that relates to our family would be appreciated. I am also willing to share information.
