Welcome to our home page. We are the Netzhammer family from New Orleans, Louisiana. We began our search for our German ancestors in Erzingen, Germany and have found many. Our ancestor, Franz von Paula Netzhammer, born 1847 to Simon Netzhammer and Barbara Zimmerman, immigrated to the United States in 1865. He arrived in New York with, we believe, two cousins named Weissenberger. We know that Franz (Frank) was in New Orleans by 1872, but we know nothing else about him from 1865 until 1872. A Fridolin Netzhammer was already in New Orleans as we found he applied for a marriage license in 1846. We are looking for a link between Fridolin and Frank, Frank and the Weissenbergers, and any other Netzhammers who may be related to us, as well as other names (married to Netzhammers) such as Indlikofer, Weissenberger, and more recently, Tegelheuter. |
