| My direct ancestor Juan Jose VILLA, Soldado de Cueras accompanied the founding families of Alta California. In 1781, Captain Fernando Rivera y Moncada recruited Juan Jose VILLA from the Presidio de Tubac for the proposed Presidio at Santa Barbara. There are branches of my VILLA tree that connect with the surnames: ALVARES, BERNUDEZ, BRIONES, CARRILLO, COTA, DOMINGUEZ, FELIZ, OLIVERA, QUINTERO, REYES, SHOBLO, VALDEZ and more. |
