Dewey Hudson was born on August 23, 1905 in Alabama. He had several brothers including S.T. Hudson of Viriginia, Jessie Hudson, and Melvin Hudson. His father was Doc Hudson. Dewey died on November 17, 1983. He was married to Hannah Brock on March 30, 1945. They had three children: Brenda Fay Hudson (the writer), Dennis Lee Hudson, and Debra Lynn Hudson. Dewey had a daughter by a previous marriage to Roxie(?) Hudson named Donna Hudson or Donna Mae Hudson. Dewey moved around a lot. He met Hannah in Careyville, TN, where they were married. He worked in the coal mines of Kentucky. He moved to Jamestown, NY in 1949 or 1950 and worked as a tool and die maker. He moved to Rochester, NY in 1957 and died there in 1983.
