The Boyce P. Obenshain home (the Blue Ridge Hotel) was at one time a stagecoach stop for the Lexington to Salem stagecoach.

This beautiful and historic home located at Mill Creek in Botetourt Co., VA dates back for more than a century. It was from here that the Blue Ridge Rifles assembled on 1 April 1861 and the ladies of Mill Creek presented them with a Virginia flag which they carried through the first Battle of Manassas.

Of the children of Boyce several of them, sisters, still live there. The home, situated on a large farm of several hundred acres, is a frequent gathering place for friends and relatives of this old and distinguished Virginia family.
