Charles Reed and Benna Blankenburg were second cousins. Our kitchen table was purchased at his estate sale as a wedding present from Gail Brown and Bob Oberbeck. The table is from the Blankenburg Furniture Store.

      28. Simon C. Schaefer5 Jr. (Ellen C. A.4 Blankenburg, Maria Augusta3 Zickerick, Michael2, Zickerick1) was born April 15, 1888 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and died March 09, 1966 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He married Myrtle Ann Huck November 06, 1913 in Waukegan, Illinois, daughter of James Huck and Eliza Wilson. She was born August 03, 1887 in Little Suamico, Oconto County, Wisconsin, and died November 14, 1958 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Notes for Simon C. Schaefer Jr.:
Simon Schaefer grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He went to Fountain City Business College in Fond du Lac. He cruised for the Steel Trust and helped lay out the lower Mesabi Iron Range in Minnesota. He went to Milwaukee to work for a wholesale house, later being a city sales manager. He then worked for a large painting and decorating firm after which he started as a manufacturers agent, gradually working into the motor truck agency. On January 10, 1920 he filed an Article of Organization with the State of Wisconsin, for Automotive Sales and Services. With a Capital Stock valued at $30,000, Sim developed a replacement parts house which serviced all makes of cars, trucks and tractors, acting as a wholesale distributor in Fond du Lac and the adjoining territory.

Notes for Myrtle Ann Huck:
St. Nathans later became known as Chase in Ocon to County. Myrtle grew up in Wausaukee, Wisconsin. She took nurses training in 1907 at Trinity Hospital, now Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She worked as a nurse in and around Milwaukee until she met Simon Schaefer Jr. in 1913.

Christian Science. Lived in Montana at Rilla Ranch. Daughter Jean Rilla adopted a daughter Bonnie Jean, lived in Sunnyside, California.
