Notes for Walter Baron, Sr.: Walter was a musician and could play multiple instruments. He would entertain the family during holiday seasons. His daughter, Michelle, would play the piano and Walter would bring out his saxophone and the family would gather around and sing Christmas Songs. The family has many found memories to cherish
Walter was WW II Vet, First Lieutenant, In The Army Air Corps as a Pilot. He loved planes.
Walter married his lovely wife, Victoria (Denoncourt) Baron on Feb. 15, 1947 and was married for 58 years. They had two children Walter F. Baron Jr. born July 15, 1948 and Michelle Ann Baron born Sept. 6, 1049
Walter loved animals, music, children, and life.
Walter did get to see one Grandchild, Otis Chandler Baron, marry on June 21, 2003 to Marya Ravi Janoff in Wellfleet, MA. and another Grand child become a Doctor, Joshua Zuckerman.
On Nov. 28th Walter was rushed to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA around 9:30 A.M. for vomiting and chest pain.
My aunt Vickie, Walter's wife, called me, Denise O'Brien, and I meet them at the hospital.
Uncle Pete had a complete bowel obstruction due to a strangulated hernia. He was not doing well and they rushed him to the OR for surgery.
He was intubated around noon due to breathing difficulties and his heart working very hard to keep him alive.
I spoke with his son, Walter, after the surgery and Uncle Pete was in ICU not doing well at all. The doctors weren't sure he would survive the surgery but he did
The family was called in around midnight and he died at 1 A.M. on Nov 30th 2005

Walter F. Baron 1917 - 2005
Chicopee: Walter F. "Pete" Baron, 88, of Chicopee, died on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield Ma.
He was a forty-five year Time Study Engineer for the former American Bosh Corp. in Springfield. Walter was born on September 26, 1917 in Chicopee and had been a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late John and Apolonia ( Jusinski) Baron. Walter was a communicant and lector at Assumption Church.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps as a pilot. He was a sixty year saxophone player and played with the Aristocrats, Holyoke City Bank and the Pioneer Valley Big Band. Walter was also the vice president of the American Bosch Retirees Club. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.
He is predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Ann Zuckerman; Who was a the transplant list for a heart and lung. She had Addison's disease and died Oct. 15, 1990. two brothers, Henry and Frank; and a sister, Alice Hyjek.
Walter is survived by his wife of 58 years, Victoria ( Denoncourt ) Baron; and a son, Walter F. Baron, Jr. and his wife Jane of Wellfleet; a Son-in-law, Lanny Zuckerman of Pittsfield; and four grand-children, Otis Baron, Nicholas Baron, Dr. Joshua Zuckerman and Rachel Zuckerman.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a. m. from the Cierpial memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St in Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Assumption Church at 9:30 am The burial will be in Hillcrest park Cemetery in Springfield, MA.
