Family History of Kathleen O'Britis-McKenney & Family
| Currently I'm researching the following surnames in our family:McMahan, Jovonovich, O'Britis, Hollom, Taylor, Collins, Soliday, Secrest, Beeson, Grubb, Vane, Starnes, and many others. Recently I've begun researching my husband's family names McKenney and Basham. Some of my ancestors were very early settlers and migrated from the colonies, mostly in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia, then Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Iowa.They mainly immigrated from Ireland, England and other countries. Although I've only verified the 1st 3 generations of my research with certified records, many other individual or group sources have provided information that indicates I have among my maternal ancestors, knights and royalty from England (Vane family) and American pioneers and patriots.There are also indications of possible distant cousins relationship to Presidents Taylor and Madison (Taylor & Secrest families).My sources are actual records where possible, other cousins' contributed work, in addition to using Familysearch.org (the LDS site), Rootsweb.com, Ancestry.com and FTM's site. Since I've just begun to imput the tree info and photos, please check back to this page from time to time for updates. It has been exciting and heartwarming to meet new cousins and renew old family ties.I look forward to meeting more cousins in the future.
