Moved to Salem Township, Highland County, OH in 1823, following Elizabeth's family.
In 1814 Samuel was drafted and accompanied General Harrison.

8. DAVID2 OCKERMAN (DANIEL1) was born December 01, 1800 in Craven County, NC, and died October 14, 1872 in Preble County, OH. He married MARGARET KINZER August 29, 1822 in Highland County, OH, daughter of JOHN KINZER and MARY DEARDORFF.

Notes for DAVID OCKERMAN:
Moved with family to Highland County, OH around 1812. He was a Deacon in the German Baptist Chuch at Brushcreek Township, Highland County, OH and followed in his fathers (Dunkard) footsteps as a minister in the Church. He and Margaret purchased approximately 50 acres of land 1 1/2 miles east of New Vienna where they built there first home, a 14x16 log cabin. Over the years there farm was expanded to over 300 acres. David's ministry took him to Preble County where he passed away at the age of 72.
