The name is not common, but then neither are those who bear it!
My research attempts to (1) associate all who bear the Irish surname CLISHAM (from the Gaelic Mac Cliseam: Son/Descendant of ....; O Cliseam: Grandfather/Family of ....) and its many variations (Clissham, Klisham, Clishem, Clishim, Clishum, Clesham, Cleshem, Cleshim; Cresham, Creshem, Crisham, Crishem, etc.), and (2) compile a CLISHAM archive of the surname as a resource for family historians and/or genealogists associated by lineage to the CLISHAM surname or its variants.
The currently held "CLISHAM Archive" material documenting the ever increasing descendants of a relative handful of immigrants and their ancestors now exceeds a thousand assorted records. This net page is intended to encourage research requests appropriate to this developing archival resource. When accompanied by the inquirer's contact information and the who, what, when, and where of their CLISHAM lineage, all potentially relevant Archival record data and their source(s) will be identified in a timely response.
Get in touch and this family page will try to stay in touch.
