O'CONNOR, GOOBY, WEINER, COHEN, HELLER, GEIGERMy name is Scott O'CONNOR. I currently live in Las Vegas, NV with my wife, Ellen (WEINER). We are researching the O'CONNOR name out of Michigan, and allegedly from New York around the mid to late 1800's. Charles O'CONNOR was reportedly married to Ida (SMOOT) from Virginia, then moved to Michigan. Their offspring, Charles Edward O'CONNOR Sr (b. 1896), from Greenbush, Michigan, married Minnie (DAMREAU) (b. 1895), of Oscoda, Michigan. On my paternal grandmother's side <Shirley (WILLIAMS), we have gone as far back as her grandparents, Herbert WILLIAMS, and his wife Hannah . On my paternal grandmother's maternal side, we have gone much, much further, thanks to Bill IRWIN. The information for that can be found at this address: http://home.att.net/~cigrbill/On my wife's side we are having a bit of trouble getting past Ellen's granparents. We are researching the HELLER/GEIGER and WEINER/COHEN families out of New York. The WEINER family seems to be from Herzogovanier, Rumania. Maximillian WEINER or IVANEIR, b. circa 1881, died in NYC about 1927, and was marired to Henrietta (COHEN), from Dover, New Jersey, circa 1891.Another stumbling block has been the Matthew GOOBY family from Michigan, but originally England, according to an 1870 census from Ionia Co., Michigan. Matthew GOOBY served in the 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Co. A. That is where I have been able to go no further. If you have any information or tips to further our research, I would greatly appreciate it. Of course, I am willing to share information I find also.Feel free to e-mail us if you have any information or questions.LVninjas@aol.comBO the "BO" part is to prevent Spam mail.
