I am researching the roots of my O'Connor and Sutton surnames. The O'Connors that I have found originated in East Tennessee in the early 1800's. The Suttons originated in Western North Carolina and Northern Georgia in the late 1700's and early 1800's. My earliest known ancestor Thomas Dennis O'Connor married Mary McFaddin in 1820 in Blount County Tennessee. His dates of birth and death are not known. Powell Sutton married Rhoda Taylor in Rutherford County North Carolina in 1823. His dates of birth and death are not known. My goal is to find where my ancestors originated before they came to the United States. The surnames in my family tree are:
