Searching for ancestors of William ODOM OLDHAM. William ODOM OLDHAM was born abt. 1782 probably in South Carolina. He moved with his mother Millie BRELAND and her second husband Matthew COOK or COOKSEY to Newton County, Mississippi about 1811. William ODOM settled for a period of time in Newton County before moving to Hancock County, Mississippi where he died after 1850 near Picayune. Children of William ODOM OLDHAM were: Mary Christine ODOM, Shadrach ODOM b. abt. 1816, Samantha ODOM b. abt. 1820, Eveline ODOM b. 16 November, 1821 in Pike County, MS, Nancy ODOM b. abt. 1824, Manerva ODOM b. 18 September, 1826 in Hinds County, MS, Eli ODOM b. ABT. 1829, Samuel ODOM b. abt. 1830, and James Hillary ODOM b. abt. 1839.
Other surnames in my family are: SIMPSON, ELLINGTON, FRASIER, FRAZIER, COBB, MUNN, THREATT, AND THWEATT. Most of these families lived in the Newport Communiuty of Attala County, MS and Thomastown, Leake County, MS area after migrating from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with information on descendants and/or ancestors of this family.
