| My roots lead back directly to the UK on my father's side and via convicts and settlers in Australia on my mother's. I have been *doing* family history for many years, but in reality that has only meant compiling the research completed by other leaves on my trees. The tyranny of distance has been overcome with the growth of the internet and online resources, making the unreachable easily accessible. Time is moving on steadily and many leaves on my tree are of splendid age, while the youngest are now robust and green - time is ripe, then for me to take the reins of delving further. |
