I am researching the SMITH and BREWER families from Macon and Morgan Counties, IL. James Smith appears in the 1840 Morgan County census. He came from somewhere in TN. Ira BREWER, also listed in the 1840 Morgan County census, also came from TN. Based on census data and children?s birth dates, we believe they came to IL about 1828. I am seeking information as to where, in TN, these people came from.

I am also seeking information on Ezekiel M. B. LAIRD (aka EMB Laird, aka EMB LARD) who was born 30 Sep 1814 in Caledonia County, Vermont. EMB LARD was married in 1839 to Cynthia C. PARKER, who was born 17 August 1821 in Genesee County, New York.

Any information would be appreciated. I am most willing to share the information that I have.
