| The O'FALLON branch of my family came from Ireland during the Great Potato Famine of 1845-1849. Malachey O'FALLON came from County Cork and his future wife Mary M. COFFEY came over to America through Boston with her mother. Eventually, Malachey (or Mallick) and Mary would buy a farm from Michael HART in Leasburg, Crawford County, Missouri. There they would raise their children John Joseph, Martin Cornelius, Patrick H., Peter, William M., and Kate. My O'FALLON name comes through Martin Cornelius who married Alva Elizabeth DUVAL from Petersburg, Monroe County, Michigan. Alva had one brother, Charles. Their mother was Kate DUVAL (nee SOMMERS) and her father's name was Matt DUVAL. Kate SOMMERS' parents names were Adam SOMMERS and Caroline HERLING. ___________________ The ZACH side of my family met the O'FALLON side when Cornelius John O'FALLON (son of Martin and Alva) married Georgina Agnes ZACH in 1937. Wenceslaus ZACH came to America with his fiance Barbara KRAL in April 1876 through Baltimore aboard the Union Bark that departed from Bremen, Germany. The young couple was married in St. Louis, Missouri in St. John Nepomuk Church, the first Czech Church in the New World. But Wenceslaus (in Bohemian - Vaclav or very loosely translated in English - Wenzel or William)died a the young age of 32 in 1878. He was survived by his four sons Joseph, Wenceslaus (William), and the twins George and Frank. Barbara would remarry several years later to a man by the name of Frank STRAKA who came to St. Louis in 1881 with his brother Joseph. My lineage comes from George ZACH who married Mary KAPOUN (said Capone) in 1907 shortly after she came to America through New York escorted by Mr. ZIKA, a friend of the family. This was a pre-arranged marriage made by the ZACH's and the CIZEK's. Agnes CIZEK (nee CATIN) was Mary KAPOUN's aunt, and Agnes and ger husband John knew the ZACH family and arranged this marriage. It was from this union that Georgina (Jean) and her three sisters Mary Ann, Anne, and Louise were from. Cornelius O'FALLON married Georgina ZACH and they bore my father Dennis John O'FALLON and his brothers Timothy and Michael and his sister Cornelia (Connie). Dennis married my mother Sandra Lee MARTIN. This started a whole other branch that is still very much under construction (along with the O'FALLON and ZACH branches) at www.ofallonfamilyhistory.com. But please do not be discouraged that this page may not work. I have little time to work on it so it is, like I said, very much under construction. Surnames you will find in my family tree are as mentioned O'FALLON, COFFEY, DUVAL, SOMMERS, ZACH, KRAL, STRAKA, KAPOUN, and MARTIN. Surnames from my mother's side include HAPPE, KANKE, HOFFMAN, DUISEN, FELLNER, BERNHARD, and LIENERT. All of these surnames and more are in my family tree online through this site.
