Seeking information on our grandfather, BERNHARDT ROSENZWEIG who died in the late 1800's (1898-1900) in Romania leaving a widow with three young sons SAM, ARNOLD, and ISADORE. The children were brought to the U.S. in 1900 by their mother, PAULINE SCHWALB ROSENZWEIG. She joined her brother, RUDOLPH SCHWALB in New York City; later married ISSAC ABRAMS and lived in Natchez, MS. Again widowed, she married ABRAHAM WACHTEL and lived in SAN FRANCISCO, where she died in 1948. The sons remained in the south, married and raised their families; Sam, in Natchez, MS: Arnold, Lake Providence, LA; and Isadore, Tallulah, LA.It is our goal to find more details of BERNHARDT's lineage and hopefully his life, to pass on to our children and future generations. Any lead would be gratefully appreciated. E-mail |
