I am researching the OGLE family tree. My husband's grandfather was Lewis Benette Ogle born March 28, 1889 in Coldwater, MS, and is buried in a cemetery in Vicksburg, MS. He married Sally Miller, born January 19, 1890 in Louisville, MS, and she died "of the fever during a flood" on March 19, 1936 (burial location unknown). It was stated that Sally's father was Joe Miller and that they were possibly Cherokee Indian. Lewis and Sally had 10 children: Clarence Dillard (died from whopping cough at 9 mos of age), Lewis B., James Herman, Joseph Andrew, Shelby, Virgil Mary, Mildred Davis "Bud", Edward Junior, Frances Lorraine, and John Miller (my husband's father). We have been unable to verify any of this information and have not been able to find anything prior to Lewis Benette Ogle.
We are also trying to research the John Larkin Wells family from Smith County, MS. He was born June 5, 1851 and died in Mize, MS on January 24, 1916. His wife's name is uncertain, possibly Seane Jane Arris, b. July 18, 1851, d. September 13, 1900. Their children were W. Lafayette, John Sheriff, James "Jimmie", Selie Jane, Dora, Jennie and Annie. John Sheriff Wells, born October 3, 1876, died July 31, 1960. He was married to Alice A. Smith (thought to be Indian), born January 9, 1877, d. March 18, 1931. They had one child Minnie Susan Wells (my husband's grandmother), born March 22, 1896, d. October 2, 1976.

I am also researching Snapp, Bluthardt, Chaplin and Dietrick families from KS, MO, and IL; and the Cooley families from Smith County, MS.
