Notes for William Francis O'Halloran:
He was born at his parents home at 531 Ash St., Brockton, MA. Upon confirmation, he took Francis as his middle name (his mother's middle name was Frances), and at some point he restored the O' that had been dropped from the family surname by his father. He graduated from Clark University, Worcester, MA. In 1930, he lived in Brooklyn with his first wife, Connie. He had a storied career, having worked as a newspaperman, restaurant manager, landlord, Secret Service operative (a "Revenuer" during Prohibition), Customs officer, Air Force intelligence agent during WWII, and insurance actuary. He retired from Old Republic Insurance Company as Vice President and Comptroller in 1970 after 25 years of service, becoming Assistant Insurance Commissioner for the State of Kentucky. He was an inventor (with several awards and patents), a star gazer, and a poet. His unpublished poetry collection, "Cherce Verse" was assembled by his family after his death.
