* James G. Oien of the linage of Hemming Halverson Oien*

Updated March 24, 2001

Hemming and Anne emigrated in 1872 and the journey's destination was Goodhue County, Minnesota, where they stayed about 2 years on a place near Ole Paul and Gura Flaaum. Moved then to South Dakota and took Homestead in Dell Rapids Township in Section 25 and where they have been owners of 600 acres there around, also 160 acres in Roberts County in Sisseton, South Dakota. They are buried in the country near Baltic, South Dakota. They have had 7 sons. ( there is some discrepancy on the destination county.. could be Sandhur County in Minnesota instead of Goodhue, also the name of the place they stayed has been written as - Ole Paul Guch Glasum or Elasum)
