The research began with my father James Francis Patrick O'Keeffe who was one of ten children born to Daniel O'Keeffe and Mary Garrahan in Hempstead, NY. His initial search was carried on by my dear sister Mary Rhea Agnes Ann O'Keeffe Berman. Before she left us, my sister Mary held a picnic in her backyard where we went over her research, and explored ways we can find out more, and who was able to do so. Dear Mary carried the ball as long as she could, then the rest of us brother and sisters followed(James, John, Barbara, Patricia, Kathleen, Justin, and Joseph)...
So at present, my brother John has applied for membership in the SONS of THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION based on our mother's side of the family, with an ancestor (Daniel Hill) having fought at BUNKER HILL during the American Revolution.
We all try to obtain copies of documents (birth, marriage, death, baptismal, and a picture of two) to add to the files so that we always remember our family that came before us....
