Searching for information on the family and descendants of James Olds who lived in New York state in the late 1700s.
James's children included:
* Elijah (Sr.) - b. abt. 1780; d. probably before 1840, Indiana. Lived Genesee County NY in 1820, and in Jennings County IN in 1830. His wife's name may have been Olive (surname not known).

* Eli - d. 1853 Chautauga County NY; m. Laura CHERRYTREE 1806 in Cayuga County NY.
All of James's children were born in New York state, as far as we've been able to determine.
Elijah Sr's children included:
* Elijah, Jr. - b. abt. 1805 NY; m. Rochsa (surname not known).
* Briggs Cherrytree - b. 1813 NY; d. 10 Apr 1865, Louisa County IA; m. Sarah E. MORRISON 1832 Jackson County IN. 11 children (see list below).
* Henry Forest - b. 1819 NY; d. 4 Oct 1899, MO; m. Lavina KNAUSS January 1842 Louisa County IA. 11 children.
Elijah Olds Sr. had other children besides these three sons - they're in the 1830 Jackson County IN census, but their given names are not listed.
