The Hardings and Maynards of ChobhamUpdated September 12, 2002 |
|
| My forebears came from the heathland parish of Chobham in the SW corner of the county of Surrey, England. The parish included the villages of Bisley and West End, along with the hamlets of Donkeytown, The Folly and New England. My earliest Harding ancestor was Arthur, who married Agnis Floatt at Bisley in 1648. The earliest record of "my" Maynards is the marriage of William to Christiana Heather at Chobham in 1807. Their descendants Alice Harding and George Maynard were married at Chobham in 1890; they were my maternal Great-Grandparents. |
