He married (3) AMANDA GLENN February 19, 1900. She was born June 10, 1870, and died December 16, 1911. He married (4) ALICE HENSON March 17, 1912. She was born Abt. 1893 in Johnson Co IL.

Ollie,

I have some wonderful news. Kay might already have this, but I went back to McKinney Chapel Cemetery today to look at some of the old sandstone headstones that had dates and names carved
on them. It was a sunshiny day and the sun cast a shadow across the names and standing a few feet back, the names and dates jumped out at you. I found one that said: Mary E Ollis the wife of John W. Ollis. There were no dates written on on this one. I also found one that had: Julia A Ollis the daughter of J H & July Ollis Born on either Jan or Feb 25 AD 1875 Died July 11 or 19 AD 1893 Age 17 y 5
mo 14 days. This must be Julyann Ollis, which means all of James H. & Julia Ann Ollises children are buried at McKinney Chapel Cemetery except Mexico, who is buried at Cana. Also directly behind James Henry Ollis & Julia Ann Ollis grave is a headstone that has David Jackson Died May 1865(I think it is a 5) Aged 59 yr. This must be Julia Ann's father.

I have a question for Kay. Is it possible the Mary G. Ollis that is buried right next to Peter's grave is the infant daughter of James & Julia Ann's. I noticed that you have an infant being born to them in your last entry for the family. Mary G.'s headstone read : Mary G Ollis D. Sept. 5, 1864 Aged 1 yr. 6 mo. 25 d. There is about 5 yrs. between Peter and James Henry II. After James, the parents had children
every 2 yrs. So Mary G. would have been born right between Peter & James II. It's a thought. I was unable to find a death or birth record for Mary G. at the Johnson Co. courthouse. This is all I have for now. If I can be of help, let me know.

Hi Ollie - finally heard back Jaime Rush. I sent her family group sheets on the information she sent me last month and asked her to confirm if I had entered it correctly. (It was most confusing the way
she sent the information to me.) She did not confirm, so I am assuming the information was correct the way I had it entered. She was very excited to learn about Hannah Mary's family. She does not have a
computer so has not been able to view your wonderful website as of this time.

I have typed a copy of her original letter to me and am sending a descendant chart so that you can post what you want for Dora. Let me know what you think. There are a few more descendents of later
generations, but I have not added them at this time.

Hope you are feeling better and have gotten good reports.

(Letter from Jaime Rush)

July 24, 1998

Dear Ms. Coe,

My name is Jaime Rush, and I am working on my genealogy. Since I am no longer in the Midwest, I am writing letters instead of getting in the car and visiting people and places in person. I wrote to Martha Bowers, the Library Assistant at the Washington County Historical Society in Salem, IN, and she sent me your address. I was asking about information on Dora Ellen Lloyd, my Great-Grandmother. I knew from her headstone in Elkhorn Cemetery that she was born October 7, 1869 and from the death
certificates of two of her children that she was born in Hardensburg, IN. Ms. Bowers provided me with the information that she was married October 18, 1885 in Hardensburg, and that her parents were David B. Lloyd (son of William) and Hannah May Ollis. Dora Ellen married Jacob Meridan Rush, they settled in Nebraska, where she died December 18, 1906, seven days after giving birth to her last child, Lloyd Everett Rush, whom everyone called David.

Ms. Bowers wrote that you had researched the Lloyd and Ollis lines. Would you be willing to share that information? I would be quite willing to reimburse you for copies made or postage. I am sending you what I have on the Rush descendants of Dora Ellen and some of her in-laws. I was so thrilled when I got Ms. Bowers' letter, it was much more than I had hoped. Not only did it confirm Dora's birthplace, but I learned the maiden name of her mother. I want to know more about the ladies' side of the family and not just the paternal lines. Dora spent twenty years of her life having babies and then was gone at a relatively young age. I wanted her to be more than just a footnote in the Rush line. And with your help, and that of Ms. Bowers, she will be.
