"...third son and fourth child of John and Elizabeth (Smith) Viall, was baptized April 14, 1672, died in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, September 6, 1750.
Benjamin Viall married (first) in Rehoboth, May 26, 1701, Elizabeth Wiswall, (second) Sarah (???). Children, all by first marriage: John, baptized in Rehoboth, March 19, 1704-05, died before 1750; Nathaniel, see forward; Thomas; Hannah, married June 29, 1735, Joshua Smith; Esther, born 1716, married (intent published), September 3, 1744, Captain Ephraim Tiffany, of Warren, and died in Barrington, March 19, 1792."

Benjamin Viall was a prominent man in Barrington as a town officer - - was chosen assessor in 1717, the year of the incorporation orf the town; chosen one of the selectmen Mar. 16, 1718-19 and 1722; Ensign Benjamin. select man and treasurer in 1723; chosen moderator of town meeting and town treasurer in 1725; assessor in 1725. His will, of Aug. 6, 1750, probated Oct. 2, 1750 (then of Rehoboth), mentions wife Sarah, daughter Esther, wife of Ephraim Tiffany of Warren, - -gives her his negro boy Scipio, if he survive his wife, - - grandson Benjamin Viall, and son Nathaniel, who he appointed executor. His personal estate appraised 200 pounds, 3 s., 7d.
Benjamin and his brother Jonathan bought Sept. 1, 1708, of Samuel Cranston of Newport, the estate in Swansea and Rehoboth formerly owned by Noah Floyd of Swansea. This was originally a part of the Willett estate.
