Notes for Joan Eleanor Hersey:
I grew up in Fresno, California and attended Webster Elementary, Lafayette Elementary, Alexander Hamilton Jr. High, Ft. Miller Jr. High and Clovis Union High School. I attended Fresno State for one year, San Jose City College for one year, and obtained my B.A. from San Jose State College in 1964. I worked at Colorado Springs (Christian Home for Children) for two years after graduating from college. I returned to California in 1966 and worked as a teacher, Senior Teacher, and Head Teacher in the Oakland School System child care program. After marriage I stayed home and, when our children were old enough, we started doing emergency foster care for Alameda County, caring for medically fragile, high-risk infants. We had fifty infants in our home in a period of eight years. We obtained legal guardianship of our last two babies, and stopped being foster parents. We have been members of Redwood Chapel in Castro Valley, California for over twenty years.

Bob attended schools in Oakland, California, until his family moved to Mt. Shasta, California. He attended Mt. Shasta High School until his senior year. His parents moved to Sacramento, California, where he graduated from Norte Del Rio High School.
He is a plumbing contractor and owns his own business (Woodridge Plumbing) in Hayward, California. He is active in his church.
