Epenetus operated the Olney Tavern-Inn in Providence, Rhode Island. [Olney Decendants by Mrs.
Lyle B. WIllowghby. Fiche# 2L1B7-105 3149 Call# 6019649]

June 1662 - Epenetus with others, were appointed to get timber out and frame a bridge, to be built
over the Moshassuck River.

On February 19th, 1665, he was given Lot #87 in a division of land.

In 1666, 76, 84 and 86 he held the position of Deputy.

October 23rd. 1671 he submitted a bill for 8s. as charges for a horse committed to his custody by
the town. The bill was allowed.

August 14th, 1676 - He was one of those "who staid and went not away" during the King Phillip's
War. He was given a share in the disposition of the Indian captives whose services were sold for a
term of years.

July 1st, 1679 - He was taxed 6s. 3d.

September 1st, 1687 - He was taxed 8s.

1688 - His ratable (taxable) estate included, 270 acres, 3½ shares of meadows, house and lot, 3
acres within fence, 5 acres tillage, 2 horses, 1 mare, 4 cows, 4 oxen, 2 yearlings, 5 swine, 23 sheep.

From 1695-97 he served on the Town Council

January 27th, 1696 - He and others were granted a lot measuring 40 foot square, for a school house
if they would build in some considerable time.
June 3rd, 1698 Epenetus died at the age of 64. His will is alluded to as in the custody of the Town
Clerk.

July 12th, 1698 - INVENTORY OF ESTATE - exhibited by widow Mary. £143, 13s. 7d. 2 oxen,
a steer, 5 cows, 2-3yr olds, a 2 yr. old steer, yearling, heifer, 2 caves, 50 sheep and lambs, 3 swine,
4 shoats (young weaned pigs), 2 horses, 5 stacks of bees, 2 tables, 6 chairs, Bible and other books,
1 gun, 1 warming pan, a barrel of cider, 3 sides of leather, augers, chisels, gauge, etc.

The town records declare he was buried October, 20th, 1698.???
