| This branch of the Olvera Family Name is from Monterrey, Mexico and came to San Francisco, California in 1920-1922. Jose Olvera came here first, then brought two brothers one at a time over the next two years. The entire family moved here in 1922 and settled in Pittsburg, California. Most of the family still live in the area, while others resettled in Southern California. A book called "Los Olvera's" was writted by Carlos Olvera of Dana Point, California. A reunion of the Olvera Family should be scheduled during the year 2000.
