The O'Neill - Flannery's of CaliforniaUpdated March 5, 2004 |

| My brother, Jeff, began our O'NEILL - FLANNERY family search project in the 1980's. I began adding to the project in 1993 and have just discovered a cousin who is also researching the Flannery name. I hope to locate more relatives who have taken the family names back to Ireland, as our research in this area has not yet been successful. Any information would be appreciated. I am researching the Edward J. O'NEILL family from Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts (parents are from Ireland). Edward J. O'Neill first appears in the 1880 Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Census but I don't know where the family was before that. He married Mary T. King in 1892 and they had three daughters: Helen, Loretta, Mildred and two sons: Edward/Edmond, William George. Edward J. O'Neill's father's name is John O'Neill of Boston (born in Ireland) and his mother's name is Ellen O'Connor of Boston (born in Ireland, parents: William & Joanna O'Connor). In addition, I'm researching the Peter Abraham FLANNERY family of Kentucky. Peter Abraham Flannery first appears in the 1900 Census in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, with his wife Louisa Hollstein (married in 1881) and six of their tewlve children. The six children appear as follows, four daughters: Carrie, Gertrudt, Mary, Addie and two sons: Bernie, Peter. I have no further information on Peter Abraham Flannery. Louisa Hollstein was born in Maryland in 1866, and lists her parents births in Baden, Germany, but I have not located any other information on her family yet. You may e-mail me at DonnaHaldeman@cox.net with any information or anything you would like to add to this page. |
