| John & JoAnn O'Neil are dual USA/Australian citizens. We have resided in Australia (mostly Western Australia)for over 30 years. Sadly we (and thus also our family) know little of the family history of either of our families. Having recently retired we have taken on a commitment to try to discover our family history. John's Family O'NEIL, John P. b. Abt. 1850 d. Johnstown NY. He owned a butcher shop in Johnstown. His son, O'Neil, Michael (Mike) b. Abt. 1874 d. Abt. 1933 m. KILEY, Mary <Cork IRL<Worchestshire ENG<Johnstown NY d. 1946/47 Los Angeles CA Mike & Mary had 2 children: Michael Francis & Edward. Michael Francis is John's father. We know little of Edward except that he may have been affiliated with Harvard University and he could have had a wife named Margaret Mary. It is thought they had 2 children (a boy and a girl). O'NEIL Micheal Francis (Mike) b. Sept. 25, 1894 in Johnstown NY d. Sept. 12 1955 in CA. Mike m. Dorothy Eleanor LONG b. November 16, 1900<Minneapolis MN d. October 11, 1983<Sacramento CA. Mike & Dorothy m. September 25, 1926<Los Angeles CA. They had 3 boys: Michael Francis Jr., William Joseph and John Joseph. LONG: Dorothy Eleanor's parents were LONG, William and ROUSE Mary. We know little of them except that they lived in Minneapolis MN when Dorothy was born. They had 4 children - Mae LONG THUL, Florence LONG MC GOLDRICK Dorothy Eleanor LONG and William Long. ROUSE: Mary Rouse was one of seven children: Mary, Anna Veronica b. Abt. 1877, Julie, Thomas, Sara, Katie and Honore. JoAnn's Family BIRD, Michael (Mike)>Westport?IRL>SCO en transit>CAN?Toronto> Saginaw MI>Tacoma/Everett WN m McNAMARA Sarah (no knowledge of Sarah or her family. Mike & Sarah had 9 children: Jack, Joseph Vincent, Bernard Francis, Sarah, Margaret (Marge), Thomas, Nancy, Mary Gertrude (Pic), Dorothy (Dode) BIRD, Bernard Francis (Buns) (JoAnn's grandfather) m. BURNS Ethel Gertrude Angel June 23, 1909>Everett, Snohomish CO., WN. We know nothing of the BURNS family line except that they possibly came from New Brunswick?/St. John. Buns/Ethel had 4 children: John Everett, James, Robert & Frances. BIRD John Everett (Jack) b. March 30, 1910<Everett WN d. Jan. 9, 1910>Napa CA. JOHNSON: Jack Bird m. Phyllis Irene JOHNSON b. July 1, 1915, Brady MT d. an. 16, 1977, Winthrop WN, Okanogan Co., WN Abt. 1936>Everett WN. Jack/Phyllis were JoAnn's parents. The JOHNSON line as we know it is: JOHANSEN/JOHNSON Lars b. Dec. 17, 1843>Drummond NOR d. Abt. 1920 in MT (Kalispell?) m. JOHNSON, Martha NOR Abt. 1860>Minneapolis MN. They had 4 boys: Arthur D., Martin L., Karl W., Walter Joseph. Martha died shortly after Walter's birth Abt. 1891/2. JOHNSON, Walter Joseph (Walt) was JoAnn's grandfather. He was b. April 16, 1891 in Minneapolis MN>Brady MT, Klamath Falls OR, Everett WN, d. 1972, Santa Rosa CA. WILLIAMS: Walt m. WILLIAMS, Ida May. We know little of the WILLIAMS line except that Ida May had a brother Robert (Bob). It is believed that Ida May had a second marriage to KINNEY, Fred. They lived near North Bend/Snoqualmie WN. JOHNSON, Walt & Ida May had 2 girls: Phyllis Irene (Phy) and Martha Elizabeth. Phyl was JoAnn's mother and, as mentioned above, Phyl married Jack BIRD. Walt and Ida May separated Abt. 1926. Walt remarried Abt. 1940/45 Gertrude (Gertie) Landers Martin in Everett, WN. We need all the assistance we can to research our lines particularly as over 95% of it will have to be done via the NET due to our living so far from the USA.
