| This report contains the names Moon, Houghtling, James, Hayes, Carr, Wheeler, Sweener (Chouinard), Greene, Dodge, Pratt, McVeigh and more, most from the Stephentown, New York area and all from the New England States. (I never knew that I had ancestors who were part of Plymouth Colony or were Kings and Queens in England and Scotland!) One thing that I have learned, is that it all leads to England! These were fascinating people, who, like in every family, had some very good times and some very tragic times. However, it appears that they were survivors, as good upstate New York farm people were. The members of these families whom I knew were and some still are, precious to me, and I am proud to share them with you. The lessons that they taught have stayed with me all my life. I wish that I had known more of my ancestors, but through the magic of modern technology, I feel that I have been able to capture some of them on these pages. I hope that you are able to fill in some blanks with what is contained here and I certainly would appreciate any information that you may have that could fill in some of my blanks. I have major blanks when it comes to my Dodge line, as well as my Wheeler line past Stephen Wheeler. Seems he didn't have any parents!! Through reading my ancestor report, you will see that royalty can be traced to these noble Upstate New York people, whom I treasure. Whenever you see a * in front of a name, it simply means that that is my direct line. I launched a new website called "Stephentown Genealogy" a few months ago. Among other things, it contains fully transcribed Federal censuses for Stephentown for years 1850-1880 and 1900-1930. They are searchable and FREE to everyone.
