I believe I have a family mystery on my hands....
I am looking for my great-great grandfather Joseph COFFER. According to his Civil War record, he was born 19 February 1841 in Lexington, Kentucky. He then married Elizabeth Jane PEASE in 1872 in Illinois and fathered five children. Elizabeth was the daughter of Nathaniel PEASE and Elizabeth BETTIS of Illinois. The younger Elizabeth passed away in 1896, and Joseph was remarried to a woman named Eliza Taylor. Joseph passed away on April 9, 1922 and is buried in Vandalia, Fayette Co, Illinois.

Neither my grandfather nor I have been able to find Joseph COFFER in Kentucky or Illinois records. He appears to have come out of nowhere. If you have any information regarding Joseph COFFER, I would be extremely grateful if you would share it with me.

I am also looking for information on Timothy O'BRIEN, Mary MANION, James RYAN, and Katie McGRATH. These are my father's grandparents, and I believe some of them immigrated from Ireland in the late 1800s. Nothing much more is known of them.

I currently have over 5000 individuals in my family tree, which includes the following surnames, to name a few:

I would be happy to share information with anyone researching the same family names.
