The Haslams from Down Under

In memory of my father, Eric Raymond Haslam, and my mother, Laurel Beatrice (nee McArthur) I am researching our family roots. I am a direct descendant of Benjamin Haslam who was born 25 December, 1854 in Manchester, U.K., and his wife, Isabella Deas who was born 25 June, 1879 in Raymond Terrace, N.S.W., Australia.
At the moment I am concentrating on the Haslam side of the family, but will be doing the McArthur side as well. In doing this project it has given me a greater awareness of who I am and where I come from. It is also helping me to come to terms with my parent's deaths.
Also one of my sons has cancer and I feel the importance of getting as much of this done as soon as I can so that he may know his origins as well.
This project has been very rewarding to me, and has become very dear to my heart.
