She was raised in the Festetich Palace on Lake Balaton, west of Budapest in the town on Keszthely, Hungary. Her brother was a huntsman for Franz Joseph, the emperor of Austria/Hungary. Her cousin Paul Galtz was a chaplin for Franz Joseph. John Eberth was her third husband. They came to America in 1884 soon after they were married. Their son Charles was born in Trenton, New Jersey. My name is Pat Shoaf and I am the Granddaughter of Anna Chorba (Americanized spelling) who was born in Zenplinsky-Klecenov, Zemplin County, Slovakia (today- then Austria-Hungary) around 1877. Her sister Elizabeth, who was at least 14 years younger than her came to the US in 1911, I think. I found an Ellis Island record that seems to support that date. I can not find any records of my grandmother's entrance to the country, her marriage to my grandfather -Mihaly Zsdij or Mike Day as he was called, nor are they on any census record before 1920, by which time they had four children all born in the U.S. The first child was born in 1904. I found a family in the Roman Catholic Church records of Branc, Zemplin with a daughter Anna born in 1877 and a daughter Erzebet born in 1891. Their parents were Mihaly Csorba and Barba Imajda. If You have come across any of these in your research maybe we can share.
