I have been researching the history of the Trouw family name. My deceased Father-in-Law came from Holland after the last war and married an English girl. He had a document presented to him with the history of the Trouw family going back to 1600.He was originally under the impression that it was a fairly complete history of the whole Trouw family. My research has since shown this is not completly true, but it must represent a large part of the family. I am particularly interested in the family records before 1700 as I have a large number of disjointed records of this period. The earliest recorded person is Cornelis Trouw circ 1600 no other detail is known. The first person with any detail is Pieter Trouw born about 1610 and married before 1639, so far no record of his wife's name has been found. 3 of his sons have been traced some in great detail. I would appreciate any details that may fill in some of the gaps in my reserch. I am unable to read Dutch with any fluency. | Gordon Oscroft of Hemingford Grey, Huntingdon, Cambs GB Updated November 14, 2000 |
