James D FARRELL was born April 7, 1816, 17 or 18 in County Kildare in Ireland, the son of Edward and Kathryn MOONEY FARRELL. He emigrated to the US around 1834 through Utica, NY according to his naturalization petition. He married Catherine O'FARRELL on July 31, 1842 probably in Dushore, Penna. She is the daughter of James FARRELL and Mary DALY originally from Ireland. She emigrated to the US in 1827. They were not related. They had 17 children, while living in Albany township, Bradford County, Pa: Mary(1843-1924)married Michael SEXTON, Catherine(1844-1888)married Peter DUNN, James D(1845-1898)moved to Mabel,Colorado, Annie L(1847-1904)married a DODD, Patrick(1848-1910) married Margaret McMULLEN, William(1849-1862), Michael H(1850-1885), Elizabeth(1852-1944)married Giles VEILE, Margaret(1854-1890)married Bernard DRAKE, John F.(1855-1933)married Mary E. WHALEN and moved to Atlantic City, NJ, Ellen(1856-1906)married John SULLIVAN and Wm. MILES, Peter E (1858-after 1920)married Sarah Louise Carpenter in Colorado and moved to Mabel, CO, Emma(1859-1940)married David HOLLOWAY, Alice A(1861-1956)married George M. McDONALD, Julia (1863-1863), Thomas(1865-1865) and finally Edward(1867-1954)married Emma ROHEY or ROHE. Edward is my great grandfather. Albany is just across the county line from Dushore, Sullivan County, Pa so I find records in both counties. If this ties in with any of your research, please contact me.
